Here write Tokio Hotel: 'Our incredible year!'

An awesome year for Tokio Hotel! Golden plates, sold out concerts, 21(!) Bravo covers and a true fan-hysteria: In personal letters describe the four their exciting year..

People, this year was for us simply incredible. I have already thought about that a few times. There were so much nice situation - you can't believe it. A few days in March 2006 were especially nice. We were on tour. In Oberhausen we made our Live-DVD. We were so excited - we haven't experienced that before. And than the next morning we went to Berlin to the rehearse for the Echo-award. In the evening we had to be in Krefeld for 'The Dome' yet - that was also super. And then direct back to Berlin - for our entrance at the Echo-awards. We even won the Newcomer-prize. You just don't get it. At the making of the Durch den Monsun video I was still so distrustful. We in the middle of the nature. I stood there till my knees in the water and in the field. I couldn't imagine that that would become a cool video, but it became. And when we experienced that the single was on number 1 in the charts we just celebrated. We just can thank our fans, without you this all wouldn't happen!

A wonderfull good day sweet people!

Both thumbs in the air for this year! If I would have ten of them I would stick them all into the air. I just don't know how to start. Everyday there are so many exciting things happening. To pick on things is just impossible. What really marveled me was our first concert in Waltrop. Our first video was released for just a few days. We came there and the organisator thought that there would be 500 people, but there were 5000!!! And the fans sang 'Durch den Monsun' very loud. That was such a great feeling! A few weeks later we performed in our hometown for 75.000 people. Our soundcheck was at 6 o'clock in the morning. We were so tired. But when they told us we would play as second head-act that evening we weren't tired anymore. These things are stuck in my head now - I'll never forget them. For that I thank my family, our producers, of course Bravo and all the others who worked on our succes...

Hi sweethearts!!!

I'll never forget this year. For me, a dream came true. I always wanted to be on stage and to show people our music. And in one shock we first played to 5 people to 10.000 people these days! [ He means that first there weren't playing for that much people and now it's a lot more ] Only in 2006 we have played 50 concerts! For me were the live-concerts the greatest! We have such a nice crew, so much fun on tour and the greatest fans! There is nothing I don't like. Even headlines in newspapers don't bother me. But it's cool to see that even with a little thing like a new haircut all the media is talking about it. I'm happy that we stayed faithfull although all the succes. Of course are we became more mature but we are still the same. In every case a thank you to all the fans that we may experienced this awesome year. We have to thank you for that - all those awards, the golden plates and the awesome tour! I hope for a new cool year...

Hi people!

I remember myself to the fact that a year ago, we were still in school. Then I thought about our first video that we would make soon and I was very excited about that. But I never expected what has happened now. I mentioned it for the first time when we got a Comet-award. For me that was a incisive experience. After Oberhausen we drove to the König-Pilzer-Arena. To be in this giant arena was really awesome. We thought: Nice, that we are nominated but we will not win. And then we won two times. That was an incredible feeling. The relation in the band is only become stronger in every case. We are together 24/7, we share everything. That connects extremely. Of course everyone of us has his own secrets too. We share them with our friends at home. But I'm glad that I'm with the guys in the band. It's the time of my life. Without fans we were nothing. We know that. They support us everywhere. But also ouro crew is really great and is always on our side.

'I get goose bumps from that'

From popstar Nena to rockchick P!nk! Singer Bill has for every mood suitable music. Here tells the TH-frontman which music he likes private...

Singer Bill likes wild. He loves his life as a rocker: travelling, concerts, photoshoots, the contact with fans. But the 17-year-old also has a romantic side, like to be alone sometimes. When the other party a lot on tour, he flights early into his hotelroom. And: In contrast with his twinbrother Tom believes Bill in true love - and doesn't he like one-night-stands. So multilateral is taste of music too. Presently likes the supersinger the cool sound of P!nk. 'She is really great. I listen to her new cd 'I'm not dead' very often' he grins. 'But I'm not that type that only listens to new stuff. I also listen to my old CDs again and again. For example Green day with their super album American Idiot. I don't get enough of that!' When Bill and Tom are at home in Loitsche gives that often fights about their music. 'Our rooms are next to eachother and then gives that always dispute, who listens to louder music then the other,' laughs Bill. 'Our tastes are simply to different. I really don't like hiphop.' Absolute goose bumps I got from a certain song: "Niemand vermisst uns' from Bosse is so beautifull. At long trips I put in my headphones and listen to the song.' Next to the guitarsounds does Bill also likes Nena. 'I listen to her songs since my sixth. I liked the texts and the music so much that I started to write songs myself at 7 years old.' And that makes the Magdeburger now so succesfull. Bill doesn't want to be a disco-star: 'The last time I was on the dancefloor was at the age of 11,' he laughs. 'A ex-girlfriend wanted to dance unconditionally on a party. I couldn't say no. When I'm in a club nowadays I just move a bit on the beat and am I only sitting...'

The rockstart with a hiphop-heart!

Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom is a hiphop-freak. Not only his clothes are XXL - also on his mp3-playe are almost only cool tracks. Does he also rap by hisself?

Tom is the cool one in Tokio Hotel. He has always a nice funny quotes,too. [They call it Hammer-spruch but that's a sort of German saying I thought, there's no real translation for it] He flirts like a worldmaster (and almost always with succes) and his clothes are more then XXL. In his heart, Tom is a real hiphop-fan. 'My absolutly favorite performer is Samy Deluxe,' he grins. This music is playing on his mp3-player all the time. 'The text are super. Especially the song ,Die Reise ist das Ziel.' That fits exactly in our life. We are also a lot on the road like him. I often hear that song when I'm in the car or on the plane. I rap along very loud then. They others don't always like that,' he grins. He can't talk about his hiphop-passion with someone from the band,too. 'Bill doesn't like hiphop at all. Gustav listens almost only to rock. Only Georg likes a few tracks.

'It irritates the others when I rap along with the music!'

That's why we all, when we're on the road, are having headphones, because we all have a different taste.' But the caps-fan don't want to be a rapper hisself: 'I need an instrument in my hand. I play guitar since I was 7. That just belongs to me.' But in the meanwhile plays the 17-year-old very professional at the TH-Live-Shows. He jumps around on the stage, smiles to the crowd and at the same time he concentrates on the things he's playing on his quitar. As a rockstar he also listens to real rock of course: 'My first cd was from Aerosmith. I think the quitarist Joe Perry is very good. I have all the albums from them at home. But also new bands as Billy Talent are super.' The music which Tom had to listen in his childhood was less cool. 'When we were approximately 5, we always went to the sea with our aunt. She was always listening to PUR. That was terrible. I just didn't liked it. I always remember myself to an indiansong too.. Fortunatly, at home there was always rockmusic. For example we listened to all the albums from AC/DC with our stepdad.' Hard sounds are for Tom a must. The Magdenburger doesn't like romantic songs. 'In private I'm an unromantic person, too. That's more Bills thing. I never have songs that reminds me of an ex-girlfriend. Many people have special songs - I don't,' he grins. 'I like fast things more. There has to be hiphop in a club. I like ,Drop it like it's hot' from Snoop dogg and Pharell or 'In da club' from 50 cent a lot. Then is everybody moving!' Does Tom dance on that? 'No. Only rarely. That's more what the girls should do,' he laughs.

So is Tom really!

I like it loud and hard!'

Gustav is in privat sooner the quiet one in Tokio Hotel. [Doch wenn es bei ihm um Musik geht, dann lässt er es auf seinem MP3-player ordentlich krachen - mit hartem Rock].. [How can I translate this the best?]

Gustav is a drum-God! On stage he gives the beat. And with so much power that all TH-fans are moving in his rythm. And exactly that loud, like he's live, is also his music taste. From Gustavs mp3-player-speakers drones most of the time a vehement metal and rock sound. "The song I like the most is ,Enter Sandman' from Metallica. That just goes straight ahead.. I like that." Gustav knows a lot about Rock-things. Gustav knows almost knows all the bands, the newest CDs and even the names of members of his favorite bands. "My biggest idol ist however Lars Ullrich - the drummer of Metallica." When Tokio Hotel is on tour, Gustav often plays at the soundcheck also other songs to get warm: "I can play 'Smells like teen spirit' from Nirvana from my head. That's what I always do at a soundcheck.

'I like to hear Nirvana at parties!'

That song is also my favorite party-track. However when you're on a party where are only empires, then it's a bit difficult to dance on that on the dancefloor", he laughs. But next to all the hard and fast Rock-stuff listens Gustav also a lot of other stuff. For example Classics from the diseased Country-legend Johnny Cash. "My music taste has grown after the tour. Our crew was always listening to other music and it interested me from who the songs were. Then I started to look around a bit. I like Johnny Cash very much, but also Jack Johnson." Even as little child the TH-drummer listened to all kinds of music. "My parents liked Phill Collins, Eric Clapton and Metallica. At the age of 8 I was at my first concert with them. There played a lot of people like Joe Cocker, Tina Turner and a lot more. That was so cool." Is there also something he doesn't like at all? "Yes! In each way 'Schranz-music.' That's Techno, where are all possible effects are above one another. Then I just say: 'Turn of that shit!'"

So is Gustav really!

Whitney Houston irritates him, he enjoys hisself at the Pussycat Dolls - but his heart beats for rock-sound and ballads...

Georg is a real rockstar: He enjoys his new life. I love it, to be on stage and to celebrate with the fans. But also in private the top-bassist is really enjoying himself. The 19-year-old likes to go to party's in a club. "To dance on I like black music the most. At the moment I like the Pussycat Dolls and Sean Paul the best!" But deep in his heart Georg is rocking. "My dad listened to Oasis. I liked that cd so much that I also bought it myself," he tells. "Till today their song 'Stop crying your heart out' is my favorite song" But also from bands like The Beatles, Rolling Stones or AC/DC he heared song in his childhood. "Already at the age of 13 I was in Leipzig at a concert of the Rolling Stones. They landed with a helicopter behind the stage. That was so impressive." But the Magdenburger also like actual Rockbands. "Nowadays I find Billy Talent really cool and Yellowcard. But the album I like the most is from the US-band Fall Out Boy. I listen it all the time on my mp3-player." But Georg can also be romantic. Then he likes to hear quiet ballads from Oasis or the german Cultband Sportfreunde Stikker. "When I'm in lovetrouble I like to hear 'Andere Mütter' from the Sportis. There it's about that other mothers also have nice daughters," he grins. "But I don't have a typical girlfriend-song. Why should you fasten the love to a song?" Next to a cool sound is for Georg the text of the song also important. "Most of the time I don't really think about the text when it's english music. But often I go and sit and listen carefully. At our songs we also pay attention that the lyrics have a message. We tell the stories of our lives - that then hopefully touches our fans." Does Georg also listens to his own music actually? "Sometimes I listen to it. It's also nice stuff," he laughs. "Although we played it a lot at concerts, I still like the songs everytime. Otherwise, the most irritating song of the world is 'I will always love you' from Whitney Houston," he grins.

So is Georg really!

The Breakthrough: ,,Durch den Monsun''

BRAVO shows in highlight-review, how Tokio Hotel in even twelve months worked out to be the most succesfull german newcomer-band ever..

Tokio who? When Tom, Bill, Gustav and Georg in August 2005 hang around at the BRAVO-redaction for the first time, they're still totally unknown. Four pupils with a record-deal and a big dream. But the whole redaction mentioned very soon: These four guys are something very special. They have a quite magic look. A whole special look. They are still so young and unbelieveble talented. And they have made a mega-single: ,,Durch den Monsun'' - a song which entrains and touches, churns and enthuses, who is saying what millions of german teenagers are feeling. Tokio Hotel are ambitious. They are prepared to fight for their succes. They know, that it doesn't come by itself, that you have to work for recognition. In every free minute they practice in their practiceroom in Magdeburg. At the 'Rock in die Ferien' Open Air in Erfurt they can prove that it has rewarded: They rock like professionals and after the concert they have to give their first autograms. For their debut-single the four make their first video in Leuenberg near Berlin. They are really excited, but prepared though. However the boys are so young, they've worked four years for their breakthrough, though. Already since their early childhood they dreamed to be succesfull musicians. For their first video they go accordingly to the limit: Bill, for example, hanged with his head above a lake for 30 minutes. After that he had to sing with his face in an aquarium. All the boys became wet to their bones during the performance because of artifical rain. But the effort has his rewarding: Tokio Hotels first video is awesome. Still before that video is broadcasted for the first time and is making the hearts of million girls pounding harder, Bravo brings the first 'Doppelseiten.' [What do they mean with that? Posters or something?] The resonance is absolutly overturning. Thousands of girls write is every day, although they hadn't even heared a song from the band: 'Who are those four boys? From where are they? Give us more about Tokio Hotel!' Bravo poweres the band further, is always printing the newest stories and posters. In their own recordstudio in München rockt Tokio Hotel for the first time live for the Bravo-editors. Soon is clear: This band is real und also Bills look is no well-thought idea from the recordcompany, but the creation of the charismatic singer. The Magdeburger was already looking this unique before he was on the Bravo-cover. The debut-single ,Durch den Monsun' releases on the 15th of August 2005 and changes the german popworld for always. Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg conquer the hearts of the fans as in a storm. Teenagerrooms from the Northsea to the Bodensea is wallpapered by Tokio Hotel posters. Suddenly it's busy at the german hairdressers: A lot of fans want Bills manga-haircut. The 'Durch den Monsun'-video is broadcasted on tv all day and night. In every youthroom drones the Mega-hit, they sing along with every single sentence. All the people who thought that the four boys from Magdeburg were like any schoolband, becomes to know better: At the 29th of August, Tokio Hotels debutsingle rushes into the charts. Proud five weeks the awesone song stands at the number one position. At the beginning of August 2005 were Tokio Hotel four teenagers with a dream. At the end of August they were on their way, to become the pop-phenomenon of a whole generation. Tokio Hotel - the most succesfull newcomer-band of Germany.

Real Rockstars

Only one month needed Tokio Hotel to become stars. Also with their first album they rushed into the number one position in the charts.

Before summerholiday they were students. Now are Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg suddenly rockstars. For the school are waiting autogramm-hunters, in class are the first people who envy them. The boys live their biggest dream. Every week they get thousands of fan-letters, on the street they need already bodyguards in the meantime. Wherever they are, they cause deafing screamstorms. At the first of september the twins celebrate their 16th birthday. Just their close friends are invited - and of course also Gustav and Georg. And a team from Bravo, who bring a huge birthdaycake for the twins. But there are more reasons to celebrate: During the time that 'Durch den Monsun' was still on the number one position of the charts the whole time, they finished their album. 15 cool rocksongs, unter that also a few super-nice ballads. One week before the releasing at the 19th of september are 5 bravo-readers allowed to hear the whole album already. The best: Tokio Hotel is there in personal! After every song they ask the happy fans if they liked it. The judgement is always the same: Sensationel! No wonder, that ,Schrei' rushed into the number one position of the albumcharts from 0. Bravo makes an exclusive rockstar-photoshooting with the four students. Two days long they pose for the camera in glamrock-look. In the meantime are Bil, Tom, Gustav and Georg become professionals in posing - and they like it. Also that belongs to the life of a rockstar...

Swift

October is just one triumph journey for Tokio Hotel. They win their first award and record again some new songs.

Describing October is for the Tokio Hotel-fans just as a scream in their memories. Yet as a cry of joy. At Comet 2005 are Tokio Hotel the absolute winners. They can't believe the enthousiasm by theirself when they become the award for best newcomer-act. At his speech Bill has tears in his eyes and the other boys are speechless from joy. But the party hasn't ended yet. Tokio Hotel wins also the Super-Cometen who is distributed under all the winners of the evening. Germany stands on his head [German expression, don't now the english one] Four young rockers have won from establised performers as Sarah Connor, Xavier Naidoo and Fettes Brot. The boys are as in a fuddle. To thank the fans they recorded two bonustracks for their second single 'Schrei:' 'Schwarz' and 'Beichte.' "We always want to give our fans the newest things. Something they don't know yet from the album," explains Bill. Also for Bravo goes Bill and the others for once in the studio and record an acoustic version of Leb' die Sekunde, who is also in stores. A little Bravo-reader makes Bill especially happy: The little Daniel-Tuam from Stuttgart is a huge fan and style himself exactly like the singer. When Bill sees a picture of him in Bravo, he asks for a meeting. After that they're both enthousiastic. "Bill is cool,' finds Daniel-Tuam. The next big scream: Gustav has, so-called, a girlfriend. The fans are shocked. But just after a few weeks is Gustav single again. At the making of the video of 'Schrei' the boys have really fun. They rock, as fast possible, ruin a hotelroom and they throw amplifiers from the stairs. Next cry of joy for the fans: Bravo releases the first Tokio Hotel-special.

The first golden!

November: Tokio Hotel becomes their first medal of honour and wrote Bravo history..

A true valuable month for Tokio Hotel! Already for their first single 'Durch den Monsun' they become their first golden record! At a party in Berlin hands their recordcompany the trophies over to Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg. Also Bravo becomes a gold disk - "For the support in our first months. You were the first magazine which really believed in us!" says Bill happy. But the boys haven't a lot of time to celebrate: The first Tokio-Hotel-Tour is planned, and they still have to practice diligently a lot! For two weeks the four bandmembers enclose theirself in a practice-room in Osnabrück. The fans are already excited for the liveshow. After just 120 hours are all tickets for the nine TH-concerts in December sold! And even more fan-insanity: unbelieveble 56000 readers write to Bravo, because they want to win a meeting with their favorite band! That hasn't almost happened in 50 years of Bravo-history! At the end 100 happy winners experience to be very close to TH - a lot of them have travelled 12 hours! And like November still hadn't brought enough highlights: Tokio Hotel is invited for their first big awardshow! At the MTV Europe Music Awards in Lissabon are Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg 'just' guests - but the first, own prices are following short time later!

December 2005

On full speed!

Four months after their breakthrough they makes their biggest dream come true: They go touring on the first time!

A dream come true: Tokio Hotel goes on their first Germany-tour. Nine concerts give Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg in December for altogether over 30.000 fans. In 70 minutes they play each evening the songs from their album 'Schrei,' also the bonustracks 'Schwarz' and 'Beichte' - and the fans are going wild. Already in the night before the concert there sleep Tokio-Hotel-fans for the halls in minus degrees, to be sure that they become a good place at the sold out concert. During the concert they scream so loud that you can't barely hear the music. Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg enjoy the touring-life and the hype as much as they can. Then the shock: Bill and Gustqav have the flu and have to be in bed for three days. The concerts in Köln and Hamburg were shifted. Especially Bill had to spare his voice - because a neglected flu can ruin your voice. Because of that he can't really celebrate, when Tokio Hotel in Berlin becomes Platinum for their album 'Schrei.' Insanity: The cd is sold 200.000 times. Nevertheless: Bill doesn't dare to speak and the band leaves the party after 20 minutes. The reason: The tour goes for everything! Tokio Hotel doesn't want to disappoint their fans. And so they are standing on stage in München again in three days and they give everything. The fans are relieved and scream as loud as they can ..

Olga (12): Georg would you ever cut your hair as short as Gustav?
Georg: I believe not. I have a bit protruding ears. I like it better when they are long.

Lisa (16): Georg, which showergel do you use?
Georg: Showergel? I don't shower. I just powder under it. (laughs) No, that's totally different. At the moment I use 'Axe', in the past I always used , Nivea for men.'

Hopi (12): Tom, when you bring girls to your hotelroom, do you want just sex then - or do you still have contact with them after that?
Tom: We can only drink tea too, I have nothing against that, but basically, people do that, because they want to have their fun. People can also maintain themself - that's also possible. With some girls I have contact after that. But there was never a girl yet, who I couldn't forget.

Wenke (11): Tom would you cut of your dreadlocks?
Tom: Voluntary not on this moment. I have them for 6 years now and don't want to get them off at all. But sometime I will.

Anna (14): Tom, would you ever wear the same clothes as Bill?
Tom: No, voluntary not! Then I have to get a immoral offer then I would do it maybe, but otherwise it's not my case. But I wouldn't war Gustavs or Georgs clothes also and the other way round it's the same.

Vivian (15): Tom, do you have a girlfriend now or not? There are some rumours on the internet.
Tom: No, I haven't a girlfriend.

Jacqueline (14): Where are you shopping in Hamburg?
Tom: I'm not shopping in Hamburg that often. But when I am, then in any Hip-Hop-Stores.

Julia (13): Gustav, are you so shy or why don't you talk so much?
Gustav: I want to know that too. Maybe I'm just not that eloquent and is that why I'm more in the background. I'm the most quiet one in the band and that's what you also see in interviews.

Jennifer (13): Gustav, do you often play football?
Gustav: Only for concerts, to warm up a bit. In the past I used to play and like soccer a lot.

Vera (15): On the Web there are pics where you can see Bill drunk with sweet girls. What's that?
Bill: What? I don't even know these pics! I'm rarely drunk, I have to say. I don't have a girlfriend. In the evenings we are often with the people from our team on the road. But they are way to old!

Susanne (18): Bill, how old does your girlfriend has to be at most?
Bill: Well, where the love goes, but I have to say, 20 is the maximum.

Anna (14): Do you ever have 'french kissed' (that's how you call kissing with tongues in english, right? ) with a girl who also had her tongue pierced or had a brace?
Bill: Both not. I haven't had a girlfriend who had a pierced tongue or a brace. It wouldn't disturb me, when my girlfriend would wear braces. And when she has a pierced tongue then would I find that cool.

Nathalie (15): Gustav and Georg often pull off their shirts. When are you gonna do that Bill?
Bill: I hope, Georg does that never again, das mal schon vorweg[Can someone translate that for me? ]. (laughs) I will not pull off my t-shirt on stage, I have to take away the illusion of all those girls now. I'm not that kind of person for that. To sleep I only wear a boxershort, but otherwise you won't see me without t-shirt.

Vanessa (14): Is it true that you are moving to Hamburg because of school or has that other reasons?
Bill: We all live still live at home with our parents. In Hamburg we have a studio-house. Always when we're producing are we there because then we don't have to commute and we have more time in the studio.

Allergie (Allergy): Bill is allergic to all kinds of 'insektenstichen' and apples. Drummer Gustav has an allergie for fish, Schweinefleisch and 'pollen.' Georg against hair of dogs and cats.

Berlin: They band is often in the german capitalcity. Till now they have made all their videos there. "Der letzte Tag" on the roof of a cinema in Friedrichshain, "Schrei" in an old villa, "Rette Mich" in a legendary filmstudio and "Durch den Monsun" in Leuenberg, close to Berlin.

Chaos: Most of the time they all talk to eachother in the hotelroom of the boys. Especially at Georg there is a catastrophe-alarm. At Bill looks the bathroom like an absolutly chaos! Gustav is more known as clean.

Darmzotte: A new word for the TH-vocabulary, '"I feel myself like a Darmzotte," we say when we don't feel well', explains Bill.

Essen (Eating): At Tokio Hotel there is almost always fastfood on their plates. They don't like vegetables & co.

Fanpost (fanmail): Daily there are hundrerds of letters in the mailboxes of Tom, Bill, Gustav and Georg. They have already barns full of it - because she don't throw anything away.

Groupies: That are fans, who want to be in bed with a star. They hang around for the hotel of the band. And sometimes the boys take some of them to their room.

Haare (Hair): When Bill has a new haircut is that a new scandal right away. Almost often the megastar surprises us with a new hairstyle. The three others have stayed by their old haircut.

In-Ear-Monitoring: When TH plays live, they have little Lautsprecher in their ears through which they can hear their sound clearly. Through the loud screaming of the fans, wouldn't they hear what they actually play.

Jahretag (Anniversary): At 15th of August 2006 has Tokio Hotel celebrated their first Jahretag. Because on the 15th of August 2005 released their first single Durch den Monsun - which ended on the number one position of the charts right away!

Klempner-Dekolleté (plumber-décollete): When someone stoops and you see his buttock-split, the boys call it a plumber-décollete.

Loitsche: That's how the little village is called in Magdeburg in which Tom and Bill with their mother and stepfather live. Altogether their live only 700 people. Loitsche is located by the Ohre-river. [???]

Magdeburg: The hometown of the band. They have a practice-room here. Gustav and Georg live in this city. Gustavs room is right in front of an undertaker's business.

Nackt (naked): That's how bassist Georg sleeps. The others wear all just boxershorts when they go to bed.

Off-day: call the boy it when they have a day free of work. On these days they drive to their families in Magdeburg or Loitsche.

Piercing: The Kaulitz-twins have piercings. Tom a ring through his lowerlip - Bill has a plug through his tongue and a ring through his left eyebrow. Bill wants yet more piercings, but waits till he becomes 18 (at 1 septembre 2007).

Quartett (Quartet): That's a band with four members - exactly like Tokio Hotel.

Rumbeißen (biting around): That means by the boys from Tokio Hotel french-kissing (tongue-kiss).

Schuhgröße (shoe-size): When the boys buy shoes the four need size 42. By clothes is it different. Tom wears XL to XXL, Gustav M, Georg M and Bill S.

Traumfrauen (dreamwomen): Tom likes topmodel Heidi Klum, Gustav finds Eva Longeria ("Desperate Housewives" totally sexy - exactly like Georg. Bill likes the sweet Ashley Olsen.

Umzug (a move): In spite of rumours in various daily-newspapers are Tokio Hotel not moved from their homeland. All four they live with their parents in Magdeburg or Loitsche. When they are in studio in Hamburg, they live there in a sort of WG.

Vegetarier (vegetarian): Neither Bill, Tom, Gustav, neither Georg can distance theirselfs from meat.They love burgers and co - they understand vegetarians very good though, because they like animals.

Witze (Jokes): TH doesn't like memory trained jokes. They laugh more about funny situations.

XXL: From Tokio Hotel you get everything in this size. Posters, calenders, banners, star cuts etc. In XXL Tom likes to wear his hiphop-clothes.

Yen: The Japanese currency. With that they want to pay sometime - in Japan.

Zugabe (an admit): At their concerts in the Schrei-tour they played sometimes till three admits. As last song they almost always for the second time their mega-hit 'Durch den Monsun.'

Bills big surprise!

A new year, a new Bill! His new 'longhaircut' is The TH-sensation in January 2006...

The new year 2006 isn't 4 weeks old yet - when Tokio-Hotel-sweetheart Bill surprises the fans with a sensation: His look is completely new! Goodbye Manga-haircut, hello long hair! Nice: Before, Bill hadn't told anyone about his change! Not even his band-colleagues Gustav and Georg knew about this. Even his twinbrother Tom had no idea until Bill stood in front of him! What's behind this sudden change? Bill:' Nothing special. I just wanted a change.' After BRAVO published the first photos from the new Bill, whole Germany was talking about it. All media wrote about Bills new look and thousands of fans wrote letters and emails to Bravo. , His new haircut is strange, but awesome though.', writes a feminine fan, deputy for many followers. No question: Who liked Bill already, he has more now..

The sensationvideo!

In February Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg continue their cheered Livetour and make a mega-cool video...

When Tokio Hotel are going on the second part of their 'Schrei'-tour in February, the hype around the boys is grown powerfully! This time they play in even bigger arenas, with even more awesome spotlights, for even more fans. They all want to see Bills new look. They all want to hear how awesome the former pupil-band live rockt. Equal, where Tokio Hotel plays - the tickets are sold within less minutes. For altogether 175.000 fans play Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg during their 7-weeks-tour. It's the most succesfull newcomer-tour in Germany ever. During these times they live only in hotels, are almost never at home. "We love it, to be on tour", says Tom. "Only packing our suitcases annoys." On stage the boys give a perfect show. Highpoint at every concert: "Rette mich." Bill sings this nice rockballad with so much feelings that the fans get goosebumps. The song becomes the third single of the band. For that they even record it once again - with new string-players and Bills meanwhile lower voice. In a studio in Berlin-Spandau Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg make "Rette mich", their till then most costly Video - with sensational effects: Walls are moving, a face emerges from a wall, the boys seem to fight against the gravity. Behind this mega-cool effect is an easy trick: All scenes are filmed on a slant surface. When the single and video conquer the charts the band takes time for another project. Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg engage theirselfs for "Schau nicht weg!" (Don't look away!), the big Bravo-action against violence on schools. The boys were photographed with the logo from the action - and the poster hanged everywhere in Berlin. The result: hundrerds of the posters where pinched by Tokio Hotel fans. The insanity continues..

Die Abräumer(Does anyone know what they mean here? )

Tour and trophies! TH has never played for so many fans! And moreover they also get the most important german music-prize!

The mega-March for Tokio Hotel! The till the last place sold Schrei-tour continues! And: Tokio Hotel get after Comet, Bambi and the Eins-Live-Krone also an Echo! Incredible: Actually the band has already reached almost all you can generally reach in Germany! Is there also a future for the band in foreign countries? The sensation: Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg want to start a worldcareer. In the next months their songs will also be released in countries like Japan and the Czech Republic. Since long they are the first german band from whose succes has also reaches foreign countries - and from which people believe they can have international succes. At the Schrei-tour the german fans scream even louder at every concert. Bill: 'It's already super how they come undone with us everytime!' And have a competition to get the coolest fanposters! Countless TH-fans stick their well-imagined messages in the air during the shows. [They mean posters with messages on it] Obvious, every fan wants to have the boys attention with their message! The peak waits for Tokio Hotel rill the 12th of March in Berlin: Bill and his bandmembers are for the first time at the Echo-awards! In the category 'Best newcomer national' they win absolutly deserved the important musicprize! With their scream-alarm at the show they even put superstars like Shakira in the shadows! What means the prize to Tokio Hotel? Bill: "A lot! Nevertheless: Actually our families deserve this prize. Without them we never would have come this far!"

Stars meet stars!

In April Tokio Hotel meets Hollywoodstar Tom Cruise at their till then biggest Tv-performance. Moreover they conquer Prag and let their german fans shiver.

The first TH-tour is hardly at an end or the boys miss the stage already."It was insanity, we desire back to that nice time" explains Bill. It doesn't become boring yet for him and the others: They work with highpressure on their worldcareer. For that, they record all their songs in english. 'Schrei' becomes 'Scream,' 'Rette Mich' becomes 'Rescue me.' The feeling of absolute worldstar they get at 'Wetten das..?' More then 13 million viewers watch Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav performing 'Rette mich'. Thomas Gottschalk is speechless, because the fans in the hall scream so deafening. Behind the stage happends the inconceivable: Megastar Tom Cruise wants to meet them. The super-actor goes to Gustav and Bill and even hugs them. Also he, has heared about the band, which put a spell on whole Germany. Like a fan he let himself being photographed with the boys. After the performance by 'Wetten das..?' are the fans worrying: "Bill looked so pale" they write. "Does he eat enough?" Through Bravo Bill lets his fans know: "I eat totally normal, but have always been very skinny. And on tv you might look more pale through the harsh floodlights." Totally lively they show up at their first performance in a foreign country. In Prag, the capital city of Czech republic, the boys promote their album. Insanity: 'Schrei' is already sold here 5000 times and as reached Goldstatus. The Czech-fans scream as loud as the german ones. The fans at home are worrying that Tokio Hotel will forget them. They send even more letters, packages and presents. The fanpost-warehouse of Tokio Hotel protrudes. But there is no reason for worrying: "The german fans wil always be our number ones," assures Bill.

A de la adrenalina. Din prorpiile declaratii, baietii au asa de multa adrenalina in sange, incat ar putea devasta o camera de hotel daca ar fi lasati…

B de la Bill. El este vocalistul trupei si intr-o oarecare masura si cel care scrie versurile.

C de la club. Baietilor le place sa mearga in cluburi. (de ex. In “Crown’s Club” in München).

D de la Devilish. Prima trupa a baietilor.

E de la Erfolg (ro.= succes). Baietii au fost surprinsi de succesul trupei lor. “Oricine isi doreste succes”, spune Tom, “dar nu ne-am fi gandit ca va fi atat de mare.”

F de la fete. Normal ca si fetele au un rol important in viata baietilor, desi niciunul dintre ei nu are momentan o relatie serioasa. Daca lui Bill si lui Tom le place o fata, o lasa pe aceasta sa aleaga…

G de la Groupies. Un interviu din BILD spune ca Tom ar fi declarat urmatoarele: “In fata hotelului sunt mereu cateva fete, carora le-ar placea sa intre cu noi in hotel. Cateodata nu spun nu.”

H de la Haustiere (ro.= animale de casa). Toti membrii trupei iubesc animalele si aproape toti au pisici si/sau caini.

I de la interviuri. Presa e in oarecare masura fermecata de glumele si spontaneitate celor patru magdeburghezi, motiv pentru care se bucura de renume.

J de la Japonia. Bill iubeste rockul japonez, si Japonia poate fi considerata tara preferata a celor patru, desi nu au fost niciodata acolo.

K de la Kaulitz. Numele de familie al gemenilor si al tatalui lor natural. Tatal vitreg al celor doi se numeste Gordon Trümper si este si el muzician.

L de la live. Baietii iubesc sa cante live. Emotii exista doar inaintea concertelor. Pe scena baietii sunt in elementul lor.

M de la manga. Lui Bill ii plac mangaurile dar, dupa spusele lui, nu se pricepe cine stie ce la desenat.

N de la numarul 1! Primul album a reusit practic sa ajunga peste noapte in varful topurilor, singleurile la fel. Au primit discul de aur, de platina, premii si decoratii.. Fara indoiala , Tokio Hotel sunt momentan cea mai de succes trupa a Germaniei.

O de la Olsen Twins. Dupa cum declara, celor patru baieti li se par hot ambele fete, dar nu sunt dar nu sunt mari fani ai celor doua actrite.

P de la piercinguri. Bill si-a facut un piercing in spranceana si unul in limba, de asemenea si un tatuaj, lucru care nu i-a incantat prea mult pe parintii gemenilor. Pe de alta parte, Georg si Gustav (inca) nu au piercinguri.

R de la Reichtum (ro=bogatie). Bill despre asta: “Suntem departe de a avea un milion in cont. Daca ar fi asa, as putea trai fara grija zilei de maine.”

S de la “Star Search”. La acest talentshow de pe SAT1 a avut Bill pentru prima data contact cu camerele de filmat. Acum casting show-urile li se pare baietilor “sarace”.

T de la Tanzen (ro= a dansa). Dansul nu face parte din performance-ul baietilor, asta il face pe Gustav la tobe cel mai bun dansator dintre cei patru!

U de la Unkenrufe (ro=declin). Prognozele spun ca abrupta cariera a baitilor ar putea lua sfarsit rapid. Tom: “Am putea suporta faptul de a nu mai avea succes. In cazul acesta vom canta din nou in cluburi mici. Nu vom lasa niciodata muzica deoparte.”

V de la video. Tokio Hotel au filmat de curand doua videoclipuri, “Der letzte Tag” si “Wir schliessen uns ein”. Cel de-al doilea videoclip a fost filmat “pe ascuns”, doar cateva fane fiind prezente, luand parte la crearea videoclipului.

W de la Wiedergeburt (ro=reincarnare). Legat de aceasta tema, Tom a spus o data: “Mi-ar placea sa ma reincarnez in caine. Doar mancat si lenevit, si pe deasupra esti mangaiat toata ziua.”

Z de la Zukunftraum (ro=viitor). Cea mai mare dorinta a baietilor e sa cante intr-o zi in Japonia, si dupa cate se pare, asta se va intampla curand…

MUZICA
Soundul Tokio Hotel

Soundul Tokio Hotel combina elemente din subcultura muzicala, elemente rock, gotice, punk si glam rock. Faptul ca baitii nu vor sa fie incadrati in niciuna din aceste categorii, indica faptul ca vor sa-si dezvolte propriul stil.
Iar acest sound si aceste versuri personale, clare, fara expresii goale, ii fac pe Tokio Hotel sa fie o trupa deosebita in ochii fanilor.
Sarah Kuttner (moderatoare VIVA) despre Tokio Hotel: “Au cel putin o chitara in mana si scriu mare parte dintre cantece singuri.”, ceea ce nu se poate spune despre multe alte trupe de tineri.
Munca cu echipa de productie li se pare baietilor destinsa si creativa: “Am compus o mare parte din texte impreuna cu producatorii”, spune Bill amintindu-si de primul album, “fiecare a venit cu cate ceva, ba ii venea unuia in minte o strofa buna, ba altuia un refren.”
Se,pot citi in ziare chestii de genul: “Chiar daca Tokio Hotel nu sunt o trupa rezultata in urma unui casting, sunt “produsi” si “vanduti” ca si cum ar fi una. Dar care trupa macar cu pe jumatate la fel de mult succes nu este? Daca o trupa are un marketing bun si un tel bine ales, inseamna ca face o muzica de proasta calitate?
Tokio Hotel canta in germana, ceea ce fanilor li se pare cool. Georg despre asta: “Cantatul in limba germana nu reprezinta un atu sau un deficit in plus, din punct de vedere calitativ. Din fericire. Nu am inteles niciodata de ce germana e considerata uncool.” Iar Bill spune: “Germana e limba mea materna, cel mai bine te exprimi in limba ta. Am scris “Leb’ die Sekunde” la varsta de noua ani. Si ascult multe cantece in limba germana.”

De ce nu sunt Tokio Hotel un boygroup!
Baietii fac muzica de multi ani, trupa s-a format sub numele de Devilish si a cantat in cluburi si la festivaluri, neavand nevoie de un casting pentru a sparge gheata.
Nu exista nici o coregrafie sau numar de dans pe scena.
Canta chiar ei la instrumente proprii.
Sound individual, texte personale, lucru ce ii indeparteaza de a fi un boyband pop, usor de digerat.
Repertoriul Tokio Hotel consta in mare parte din texte scrise chiar de membrii trupei; despre ce boygroup se poate spune asta?


Tokio Hotel vorbesc in cantecele lor despre iubire, furie, disperare, neajutorare. Nu a existat niciodata in Germania o trupa cu un asemenea succes in ciuda varstei fragede a membrilor ei (sub 18 ani). Exista intrebarea: cum pot canta oameni asa tineri atat de convingator despre lucruri ca iubirea, pierdere si “traieste clipa”, cand nu au aproape deloc experienta vietii? Bill: “Bineinteles ca am trait deja anumite lucruri, tinerii din ziua de azi percep lumea din jurul lor asa cum e ea. Deci eu pot vorbi in textele mele despre lucruri care poate ii surprind pe mult adulti. Asta se intampla de exemplu in cazul melodiei “Gegen meinen Willen” care are ca tema despartirea dintre parinti, lucru care i-a traumatizat pe gemeni cand erau mici.
“Ne-am implinit visul de a face muzica”, spune Bill. “Am luptat mult pentru asta. Cred ca asta le-ar putea da curaj si altora sa creada in ei.”



”Visam deja de mult timp sa fim cunoscuti. Pe atunci nu aveam parte de concerte. Inca de cand fratele meu geaman Tom si eu aveam noua ani, canteam la serbarile din sat, la concursuri si in cluburi mici cu scena deschisa. Nici azi nu stiu sa cant la vreun instrument sau sa citesc note, de aceea aveam atunci o orga automata, la care puneam sa cante beaturi de toba – era de ajuns pentru competitiile scolare. Trimiteam demouri peste tot. Parintii trebuiau sa ne duca in fiecare weekend pe undeva.” - BILL

Povestea din spatele cantecelor

Tokio Hotel au vorbit adesea cu placere despre povestea care sta la baza cantecelor lor. Am rezumat aici cele mai importante declaratii ale compozitorului Bill.

Schrei Inca din timpul scolii Tom si Bill ieseau in evidenta prin stilul lor si erau considerati stupizi de catre profesori si colegi. Schrei povesteste despre faptul ca cei doi nu voiau sa se adapteze, dar si despre frustrarea adusa de singuratate si “a nu te lasa influentat”.

Durch den Monsun Cand a venit vorba despre lansarea primului single, trupa a trebuit sa decida care titlu ar fi mai potrivit pentru debut. Durch den Monsun, melodie in midtempo, cu parti linistite si parti mai dure, reflecta in opinia baietilor cel mai bine repertoriul Tokio Hotel.

Leb’ die Sekunde Bill a scris melodia cand avea noua ani, ca un apel catre cei care sunt probabil tristi sau disperati. Viata e prea pretioasa pentru a pierde chiar si doar o secunda!

Rette mich Singura balada adevarata de pe primul album se refera la suferinta in dragoste, stare in care Bill s-a aflat de multe ori, din cate spune el. Tot el sustine ca nu s-a gandit la o fata anume cand a scris cantecul.

Freunde bleiben Cuvintele “mai bine mort decat Bill”, nu au fost spuse vreodata, asa sustine cantaretul, dar baietilor li s-a parut amuzanta expresia. Cantecul este important pentru Bill, deoarece considera prieteniile nesincere si oamenii superficiali “total corosivi”. Textul e legat de cativa fosti colegi ai lui Bill din Magdeburg.

Ich bin nich’ ich Un cantec despre inimi ranite, iubire respinsa, si ,dupa spusele lui Bill, despre dragostea nefericita pe care o purta unei fete.

Wenn nichts mehr geht Cantecul e legat de intrebarea “ce se intampla dupa moarte”. Bill sustine ca nu se teme de moarte, dar a vrut sa discute muzical tema.
Lass uns hier raus Titlul se refera la visul trupei de a deveni cineva si a fost conceput in timpul productiei primului album.

Gegen meinen Willen Acest cantec trateaza despartirea parintilor, intamplare legata de care mult tineri nu au chiar cele mai frumoase amintiri. Cantecul are scopul de a-I incuraja pe copiii ai caror parinti s-au despartit, sa fie deschisi si sa vorbeasca cu prietenii lor despre aceasta perioada grea din viata lor.

Jung und nicht mehr jugendfrei Un cantec care pur si simplu reflecta sentimentele trupei intr-un anumit moment.

Der letzte Tag Pentru acest cantec Bill si-a pus intrebarea “ce-ai face daca ar fi ultima ta zi pe pamant?”. El spune ca melodia a luat fiinta cand se afla intr-o stare depresiva, si ca azi ar prefera sa nu fie informat despre aceasta ultima zi.

Unendlichkeit Cantecul a fost compus aproape in intregime de Bill si trupa, intr-un moment foarte frumos de relaxare. Bill: “Cantecul se refera la a vizita locuri noi, a vedea lucruri noi, pur si simplu de a hoinari”.
