Ea a debutat in vara anului 2002 cu , cantecul "Complicated".Avea atunci 17 ani. Ea mai are 2 frati si s-a nascut intr-un mic oras,Napanee, Ontario.Ambitiile rock a lui Avril s-au descoperit inca de la varsta de 3 ani.Mai tarziu.In adolescenta,ea deja scria versuri si canta la chiatara.Ea a fost auzita de Arista Records main man Antonio "L.A." Reid la unul dintre festivalurile la care canta si Avril.I s-a oferit un contract,iar la varsta de 16 ani visul lui Avril s-a implinit.Cu asistenta Reid's si un nou apartament in Manhattan Avril s-a trezit inconjurata de mai multi compozitori si producatori ,dar nu a fost destul de impresionant ca ea sa continue.Ea vroia sa creeze scanteia muzicala si lucrurile nu mersesera asa cum erau planuite.Ea a plecat la L.A. iar Nettwerk a pus mana pe ea.Producatorul/compozitorul Clif Magness a pregatit debutul lui Avril.Cantece precum"Complicated" si "Sk8er Boi" au ajuns direct in Top 10 in timp ce "I'm with You"si "Losing Grip" se ascultau binisor la radio.Butch Walker de la Marvelous 3, Our Lady Peace solistul Raine Maida, si Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte) au ajutat-o pe Avril la al doilea album al ei "Under my skin"care a aprut in mai 2004.Albumul a urcat direct in topurile Billboard ,iar "My happy ending"era un mega-hit.Potolindu-se un pic,Avril s-a casatorit in iulie 2006 cu solistul de la Sum41,Deryck Whibley,prietenul ei de 2 ani. si poza....
