*Bill’s diagnosis. Quotes for you to read:
“At the moment Bill is lying in his bed,” says manager and producer David Jost. “He took one painkillers for his headache, and the operation can be done before the medication is out of his blood system, if not, it may lead to complication under the operation.”
The operation lasts for 25-30 minutes. His voice have to rest in one week, then it needs weeks with rehabilitation.
David Jost: “The complete band is discouraged because of it. Bill, of course fears the operation. Tom, Georg and Gustav are trying to support him the best they can.”
The exact date for the operation isn’t known yet. Even in a good case scenario Bill’s treatment could take weeks. If the concerts after that will be played is still open to discussion.

How does it feel like to be at home for such a long time without a break?
We've been on the road for years and suddenly you're at home all day long. It is a drastic change. You're falling into a hole and suddenly you miss being on the road. And Bill misses being able to sing. Bill is not only singing on stage and in the studio; usually he is singing the whole day at home. No wonder his voice is stricken. Now he is quiet - I think the silence is comfortable.
Is Bill in pain? How are you cheering him up?
Well, I think he's not in pain. Well, and if he were, he couldn't complain anyway because he has no voice. Usually Bill is talking non-stop, this can really get on your nerves. At the moment I have the most relaxed time of my whole life. If someone is talking, it is me. And Bill can't do anything against it. That is great. Yesterday he wrote "Shut your fuckin' mouth!" with his eyeliner on a sheet of paper. If I'm getting on Bill's nerves he holds up this note.
Will you go with Bill to the hospital? How long does he have to stay?
Bill wants to stay in the hospital as short as possible. Likely, he can't stand to stay there longer than 1-2 days. I'm going with him and will stay by his side the whole time, for sure. Our family, the closest friends, Georg and Gustav and our crew will visit him too, of course.
What are your drummer Gustav and your bassist Georg doing at the moment?
Well, for them it will be like always. What are they supposed to do? They are doing nothing, like always Georg is likely playing with himself the whole day , as always and Gustav is riding his bycicle. Tomitza
Nah, to be honest, I think we're all the same. Because of this forced break we can calm down. Maybe this is not so bad.
Are you scared that "Tokio Hotel" won't sound the same after the surgery? Is Bill scared that his voice will be higher or deeper after the surgery?
To be honest we really are fucking scared. Both of us. If so, Bill already gave me signs that I have to sing. Well, Phil Collins also was a drummer before he started singing.
So you have an emergency plan. Your fans are also very concerned. There are a lot of presents for Bill, aren't there?
It is really incredible and absolutely cute what the fans are doing. Bill is getting showered with fan-presents at the moment. Most of them got inspired by Bill's throat. He is perfectly equipped for the next skiing trip. He got a lot of scarfs and shawls. And we can also open an apothecary. Countless of drops, multi-vitamine pills, vitamine C, zinc and also many homeopathic like stuff which will make your immune system more stable. If you take it all at once you maybe have a very nice trip.

According to his manager, the vocal cord operation of Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz (18) went well. “The operation went just as planned, and the physician is very confident”, said producer David Jost. “The treating physician of Bill is one of the best physicians, in the area. si eu am auzit de chestia asta cu tom.... nu se poate asa ceva... chiar tom zicea cu gura lui ca nu ar canta niciodata si acum se apuca de cantat?! nu stiu dak TH vor fi la fel fara billutz la voce.....

Hi everyone, it's Tom again!
As most of you've probably heard, we had to cancel the rest of our "1000 Hotels European Tour" because Bill is having major problems with his vocal chords and has to undergo surgery. Having to do that has been a big let down for all of us -- especially for Bill. We are all back in Germany, and of course, I returned directly with Bill to support him and be there if he needs me.
Bill has to see the doctor several times per day, but be assured he has the best doctors in Germany. We are talking about so many things these days 'cause all of this is really scary. But most of all we feel so sorry that we had to disappoint you guys with cancelling the rest of the tour. We feel like we let everybody down. Bill especially feels really bad about this, and I try to reassure him that it's nobody's fault.
So me and the boys want you to know that we're doing everything we can to get back on stage and see you all as soon as possible….that'll be soooo awesome! We hope it won't take too long. Thanks for all the "get well" wishes you guys have been sending us -- it's amazing to get such great support from all our fans out there. Take care and thanks again for your unbelievable support! Oh yeah, feel free to leave a comment here…Bill will check them out as soon as he feels a little better.

In one month, Bill will sing againTokio Hotel fans can breathe again. Just one day after his vocal cord operation, Bill has been released from the hospital yesterday.
“The operation lasted 45 minutes,” tells David Jost, manager from the band. “Everything went according to plan and there were no complications.” The first ones to visit his bed were of course his parents and twin-brother Tom.
The conversation went everything except smooth: Bill remained silent. The singer isn’t allowed to say anything for the next 10 days. Bill can only communicate with a chalk board his brother Tom gave him.
Even though nothing was said: “Bill wanted to stay as shortly as possible in the hospital,” says manager David Jost. And that’s why yesterday the Tokio Hotel singer left on the way home.
But the next month will be tough: First 10 days no speaking (and singing of course), then a 3 week voice training. David Jost however gives the fans some hope: “The first public performance will probably be on 1 May – at the US-concert in Washington.”
And the German fans can celebrate Tokio Hotel again on 23 May in Oberhausen at the music award VIVA – Comet. Tokio Hotel has been nominated 3 times. In the category “best band,” “best live-act” and “best video.”

Day 10 after Bill's (18) vocal chord operation. The day, for which Tokio Hotel's singer waited, on which he may speak again. But that is how simple, if one were allowed to say nothing for a long time? B.Z. inquired.
The first words, which Bill spoke after the operation, were first a careful and slow "Ahhh" and then followed sound-check-well-behaved "one, two, three", avowed by his manager and producer David Jost (35). Carefully, he pressed it out, and has according to Jost thanked God there is no more pain.
Nevertheless, the teeny-favourite must adhere to strict medical regulations. "Bill must further much inhale and is to only completely carefully speak as minimal as possible. To telephone Bill may not do at all", says Jost. But small Bill is an ambitious character: "Bill wants to absolutely be back on stage as fast as possible and make the decisions himself after even too much psychological pressure."
The appointment calendar was fully through-planned for the next weeks already. But Jost is a considerate manager: "to take away the pressure off from around him, we gave him still more time for recovery and be rehabilitated and we shifted the Conan O'Brien TV-show in New York from the 28th of April to the 9th of May. On May 1st in Washington D. C. we called the concert off and will shift the autograph hour in the Virgin megastore in Times Square from 29 April on 6 May."
The first short appearance expected becomes presumably on the 3rd of May approximated to 30000 people on the Bamboozle festival in New York.
